Can you believe that there are only 72 days left until Christmas? We know, you probably didn’t want that reminder but that means that there is even less time until Black Friday. –As in 6 short weeks!
On the upside retailers have been able to get a bigger piece of that pie by stretching out the savings and offering consumers more than one day to save. Some businesses start as early as the beginning of the Thanksgiving week. While others wait until the holiday to kick it off, then Black Friday –through the weekend– and with the finale on Cyber Monday. Sources show that finale is a big one too!
According to BlackFriday.com the majority of consumer purchases were made on Cyber Monday beating Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping totals by BILLIONS of dollars!
Where does that leave you? Well, if you’re a non-profit, hang in ‘til the end of this post. We’ve got a plug for Giving Tuesday. For the rest of you; if you and I know that “shopping local” is the best deal in town, we need to be ahead of the curve!
So for all of our local retailers and businesses, submit to us by 11/7 any and all deals that you are running around the week of Thanksgiving and this is what we’ll do-
- We will write a blog post of ALL deals submitted in our markets. If enough content is received, we will write multiple blog posts, dividing the deals by region.
- We will BOOST (pay to advertise) our blog post(s) on Facebook from 11/15-11/29. (This will start 2 Tuesday’s before Thanksgiving and run through Giving Tuesday the following week). That’s a total of 2 full weeks of circulation! -Also targeted by region(s).
- We will TWEET every individual deal in that time frame.
Where do the Non-Profits come in??? Well, as it turns out the VERY next day after Cyber Monday is #GivingTuesday; a term now associated with kicking off the ‘giving season’. We hope that all of our patrons will ‘save’ so much and release so many endorphins ‘shopping local’ that they can’t help but want to ‘pay it forward’.
So, if you’re a non-profit, round up your needs; be it volunteer shifts and duties, supplies, fundraising goals, etc. and we will also feature all the ways that we can pitch in and give back to you!
