The countdown is on – we’re just more than a month away from the Irvington Crab Festival.
The fourth annual festival to benefit the Steamboat Era Museum takes place on Aug. 8 at 4 p.m. (the crabs arrive at 5) at the Irvington Town Commons (156 King Carter Drive). Tickets are $40 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger and can be purchased at the museum, online or by calling 804.434.6888. But you better act fast…the event has sold out quickly the past two years to the tune of more than 750 guests enjoying more than 70 bushels of crabs each year.
Interested in going for free? We’ll hook one lucky winner up with two tickets by randomly selecting someone who shares their favorite place to Shop Local on our blog or Facebook page. We’ll pick a winner on July 16 (which is also Third Thursday).
Steamed crabs, barbecue, hot dogs, beer, wine and music from Jumbo Lump Daddy & the Backfin Boys make for the perfect summer celebration. We’re proud to sponsor the event and hope you’ll come out to celebrate with us.
