Chesapeake Bank opens in Richmond with “I Care” campaign

With the opening of Chesapeake Bank’s first Richmond-area branch, located in the city’s Westhampton neighborhood at 5501 Patterson Avenue, the community bank discovered an even greater opportunity to give back. Banks often use a variety of tried-and-true promotional tools to attract new customers at new locations.

From low CD rates to free checking, customers are rewarded for their curiosity rousing them to try something new. But this time, Chesapeake Bank is trying something new with its “I Care” campaign.

As part of Chesapeake Bank’s grand opening promotions — and directly aligned with the bank’s efforts to give back — the first 100 new checking accounts opened at the Westhampton branch will include a $100 donation to a Greater Richmond-based 501c3 non-profit organization of the customer’s choice.

Donors and the benefiting nonprofits will be prominently displayed inside the branch on the bank’s “wall of caring.” Donations to the nonprofits will take place at the culmination of the campaign on December 15, 2015.

The Chesapeake Bank Westhampton branch officially opened its doors on Monday, September 28, 2015. This is the 13th branch for the Kilmarnock-based community bank.
