Fueling the local economy through business lending

Meet Thomas Richardson, our Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer in the Northern Neck. Although he prefers the title ‘Community Banker.’ (We also call him ‘Tom.’)

You may not know that before banking Tom received his undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and flew, both in corporate aviation and then for the U.S. Navy.

He also has a Master’s in Business Administration from The College of William & Mary and graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. However, he’s been lending to small businesses through the banking industry for over 16 years. Tom understands the needs that business owners have and how vital his role, as a banker, can be in helping them attain their goals.

On any given day he can be found meeting with owners, reviewing financials, discussing objectives, and determining how he can tailor a loan to do just that. He’s proud of the fact that we can make decisions locally, and quickly too.

We have a wide range of options when it comes to lending: From business credit cards, commercial loans, lines of credit, along with funding accounts receivables. Tom believes that because of our ‘flexibility,’ the ‘customized business loan’ really is our best product.

“When we help a small business or local non-profit with their financing needs we’re helping them grow which helps our local economy prosper.

When he’s not in the office, Tom loves to sail on the Chesapeake Bay, tinker with boats, and spend time with his family and friends.

Call Tom. Whether it’s flying, sailing, or banking. We know your business with him will be a breeze.
