Ever since Chesapeake Bank’s Commercial Loan Officer Tommy Adams was old enough to hold a spoon, he was in the kitchen cooking alongside his mother. His knack for cooking is something he describes as “being in his blood.”
Not every Commercial Loan Officer can whip up the perfect key lime pie, bruléed meringue and all. But Tommy Adams can.
Tommy does a little bit of everything: from donating his time and food from Jimmy’s, to cooking at community events, to handing out scholarships to deserving students. Whenever the community needs him, he is there to lend a helping hand (or a plate of food).
Tommy is a true renaissance man when it comes to community service. He’s involved in the Ruritan Club, a service organization which both pinpoints and works to meet the needs of the community. Annually the club hosts a dinner to raise funds for their causes, and where can you find Tommy? In the kitchen.
For Tommy it’s not about being in the spotlight.
“If it’s a good cause, I want to step up and do my part. I do it because my heart tells me to do it. It’s not about me. It’s about the cause,” he says.
