Let's write about you

Written by Reggie Rossignol | Dec 10, 2019 9:02:00 PM

We are excited to announce that our recent changes to the Buck Stays Here Directory have been well received. With our re-launch in October, we moved our simple listing of businesses over to a full-blown site at thebuckstayshere.com. Now each business has its own page. (And forty NEW businesses have already signed up! That’s 420 in total! THANK YOU!)

This change is exciting because it gives business owners one more place to get seen. Each listing will allow you to add your own pictures, contact links, and information about your company. The site is backed by SEO, advertising, and other optimization tools. There may even be room for periodic offers and featured posts in the future.

Why this matters

Digital trends are only rising.

According to Digital Doughnut, 81% of shoppers conduct research online before ever making a purchase. The eCommerce Foundation shows similar numbers for the same consumers (searching online) -- even when buying IN-STORE!

The bottom line is that if you don’t have a presence in an online world, you may be missed altogether.

We don’t want that to happen. So if you didn’t have a way to reach this audience before, we hope to give that to you now – three ways!

Here’s how

First: If you’re not listed on the directory, do it! It’s simple. It’s free. You don’t even have to be a Chesapeake Bank customer to be featured. As long as you are locally owned and locally operated, and residing in one of our markets (Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula, Williamsburg, and Richmond), you qualify.

ADD YOUR BUSINESS NOW

Second (if you ARE one of our customers): We’d like to write about you and tell your story. Just email banklocal@chesbank.com to let us know that you’re interested and we’ll take it from there. We’ll send you questions or set up a time to talk through them. Then we’ll compile your answers into an article that you get to review before it’s published to our website.

Third: All submissions, whether it’s to the directory, or in a blog post, will be shared on our social media platforms. Some of the top-performing articles may even be included in one of our e-newsletters!

The Why

You see, we know that it’s all about community, and we’re only as good as the communities we serve. Our communities do best when the local dollars are kept here. Independent studies have shown that for every $100 you spend at locally owned businesses, $68 will stay within the same town. When your transaction leaves town, only $43 stays behind. (If that much!)

Not only that, we love to make introductions and new connections. It IS the small-town way.

The “fine print”

Because we want to help all our local merchants and friends, we can only publish one entry per business at this time. If we’re able to do a second post, we’ll reach back out to you. Entries are not guaranteed approval for our blog. Chesapeake Bank reserves the right to deny any content that may be inappropriate, incomplete, or a conflict of interest.
