You’ve asked and we’ve listened. Payroll services are here.
Any business owner can tell you that administrative duties take up much more time than delivering their services or products. When your team grows, so does administration, especially when it comes to managing payroll. That’s why we’re excited to offer Paylocity, our new payroll services provider.
IT’S CHESAPEAKE BANK’S PAYROLL SYSTEM TOO
We like Paylocity so much that we’re using it ourselves.
“We were looking for a Human Resources (HR) solution and payroll was a secondary concern of ours at the time,” says Chesapeake Bank’s Human Resources Generalist, Megan Emanuel. “This system is a complete Human Capital Management System. It handles and automates everything that touches the employee.”
In addition to handling payroll functions, the software maintains employee personnel files, including information documenting onboarding, coaching, reviews, training, recruitment and benefits. “For a company our size it can take a lot of time upfront but it’s worth it!” Megan says. “Everything is so much easier because it’s all in one place and shared in the same system.”
Chesapeake Bank is a company with over 200 employees and a complex benefit system. However a typical small business with three to four employees can be turned around in under four days, according to the vendor.
PAYROLL ONLY – NO PROBLEM
If a small business doesn’t need all the bells and whistles the system provides, it can be tailored to fit the need.
We have several plans to choose from. All plans include QuickBooks Online and a payroll processing module that includes wage and garnishment management, expense reimbursement, tax service, direct deposit, year-end W2 and 1099 processing. You can easily change plans as your business grows.
Paylocity also provides the Labor and Minimum Wage posters that the Department of Labor requires businesses to post. The team will even help you load all of the payroll files for the current year into the system.
The website and mobile app offer the same great experience to employees. They can request time off, track time, manage personal leave, and handle any other HR component from either interface of the application.
Your HR team can manage the functions that are available to the end user. Even if your company only has a few employees, and only needs one portion, your team can still benefit from the other features.
REPORTING, ONBOARDING, AND MORE
Megan says the reporting feature is her favorite feature. “We have a lot of info we have to share with others within the organization because of internal and external audits and exams,” she says. “The reporting system makes my life so much easier. She relies on her account manager to help her find or build special reports not found in the default options.
She also likes the onboard tool. “From the beginning, when the employee accepts the job, that team member is in the system,” she says. “When we hire them, we send them a link, and they can enter their personal information and even fill out their tax withholding forms from home. Their first day, they are already able to clock in.”
“Support is top-notch”, she says. The Paylocity team works hard to make the system do what you need. Every business is assigned an account manager after setup is complete.
Megan recommends requesting your account manager be a part of the implementation process. “This way, you have the involvement of both sides -- the team setting it up, and the person that uses it regularly and knows what it can do.”
