Above and beyond (the roof)
We won’t make you wait for the details. Streamline Roofing, a local roofing contractor out of Williamsburg Virginia, just kicked off their third annual “No Roof Left Behind” giveaway. This initiative began in the spring of 2018 as a way to give back to their community.
“As Williamsburg natives, we want to help the people that have helped us,” said Liz Heath, director of marketing and human resources for Streamline Roofing. “Getting a new roof is a big financial undertaking, but it is essential to maintaining the integrity of your home.”
The entry period opened January 20 and applications will be accepted until February 13. Anyone can enter or nominate someone that is a resident of Williamsburg, James City, Yorktown, Newport News or Hampton. When the submission period ends, four finalists will be displayed on Streamline Roofing’s-No Roof Left Behind homepage. From February 24 through March 9 the public will be able to vote for the finalist they feel is most deserving. The winner will be revealed online March 11 and the installation celebration is planned for March 18 (weather pending.)
In the Community
Throughout their years in business, they have made a real effort to give back to their community through various sponsorships in their markets. The No Roof Left Behind campaign has been the biggest event so far and brings many different organizations together to promote kindness, form relationships, and meet the needs of someone in their town.
The 2018 winner was a single mother. She spent her weekends “Doing It Yourself (DIY)” and drew the line at getting on her roof to repair a leak that allowed rainwater to pour through her shower. Last year’s recipient was another single mom who worked two jobs while caring for her adult son with disabilities.
As for business
Streamline’s commitment to community carries over into business. By focusing on the greater Williamsburg area, the Peninsula, and Chesapeake, VA (for their Southside location), it allows them to offer the best products and services while remaining efficient and available to their customers.
They recommend this philosophy to other business owners too. Sticking close to home, encourages communication, and being available to your team is critical. It’s for this reason that they also like banking with Chesapeake Bank. “In the past, we’ve worked with bankers that had no face to their name. But here, we know them. The door of communication is always open, whether it’s for financing, sponsoring programs like this, or helping us grow,” said Jeff Skinner, Owner and General Manager of Williamsburg and the Peninsula.
Behind the team
